In The Garden with Friends – 13 May to 4 June
What better way to embrace Spring and look forward to those days In the Garden with Friends, with a visit to a vibrant Art Exhibition which is all about a celebration of flowers and friendship.
In the Garden with Friends is a major exhibition, showcasing the work of 34 artists, designer makers and photographers and opens at The Bield at Blackruthven, near Tibbermore on Sat 13 May and runs until Sunday 4 June.
Organised by Katy Galbraith from Crieff, this unique selling exhibition will feature a plethora of artwork in a variety of genres. Described as a “celebration of flowers and friendship”, Katy began to put the exhibition together last Autumn and has brought together a diverse mix of artists working in a variety of media but whose work complements each other.
A mosaic artist herself, this will be the second exhibition Katy has hosted at the Perthshire venue, who explains:
The first time I invited artists that had mentored and supported me when I was invited by The Bield to show there after winning best in show at an exhibition in 2014. In the Garden with Friends is more collaborative and I’ve invited friends, and friends of friends, to exhibit that are not necessarily all full time artists.
The Barn Gallery at The Bield is located just outside Perth and provides the artists with a superb exhibition space, in a serene and tranquil area, the rural location perfectly sets the scene for the theme of the exhibition.
With 34 participating artists working in wood, textiles, metals, glass, paint, print, ceramics, photography, paper and more, there’ll be a visually vibrant feast for the eyes to enjoy, savour and purchase! Katy has been adding individual artists information and images of their work onto the website, where you can browse through the full list of exhibitors. You can also see work in progress shots and keep up to date with some the artists and their preparations via In the Garden With Friends Facebook Event Page.
The exhibition will run from Saturday 13 May to Sunday 4 June from 10am to 5pm (closed Mondays)
